SPECIAL WINTER FOOD ISSUE
Where’s the cover celebrity, you ask? MiNDFOOD is doing things a little differently for the month of August with the release of its first ever “Food” issue. The cover star is a Caramel Sticky Date Pull-Apart Loaf.

COMFORT FOOD

Winter sets the mood for comfort food. MiNDFOOD celebrates the winter season with loads of delicious warming recipes including five simple roasted soups and inventive new ways to cook roast chicken.

AFTERNOON TEA AND PRINCE HARRY

Walking through London’s Hyde Park on his way to The Milestone Hotel for tea with European Hotelier of the Year Mrs Beatrice Tollman, MiNDFOOD’s Editor -in-Chief Michael McHugh bumps into Prince Harry.

SECRET FOOD SOCIETY

MiNDFOOD travels to Spain where we discover a secret food society in San Sebastián. We take you behind the scenes of this club, for men only, where members bring groceries, prepare meals, drink and enjoy each other’s company.

SMART EATING – BREAKFAST

Breakfast is the most important meal of the day yet so often we skip it. Naturopath Polly Rea explains why it is important and presents some delicious and nutritious breakfast options to set you up for a good day – physically and mentally.

BEAUTY BUZZ

Did you know that one honey bee produces less than half a teaspoon of honey in her life? Honey is one of the world’s oldest beauty ingredients but its beneficial effects are just as relevant today. It contains high levels of the sugar fructose, which is a humectant, meaning it attracts moisture to the skin and keeps it there. It also has a naturally exfoliating effect.

THE REAL COST OF FOOD

About four billion tonnes of food are produced globally every year, but due to poor practices in harvesting and transportation, as well as wasteful consumer habits, 30 to 50 per cent of this food is never eaten. Consumers are guilty of throwing out food because it goes bad before we get to eat it. MiNDFOOD looks at the issues and offers some solutions.
