Inside our Red Collection – Special Issue

This month, we're joining the fight against heart disease, asking women from all walks of life to share their heart stories. Take an exclusive first look inside!

Inside our Red Collection – Special Issue

COVER STORY: TILDA SWINTON

Refreshingly authentic, Tilda Swinton is a burst of creative energy on the Hollywood landscape. The enigmatic actor talks exclusively to MiNDFOOD about art, performance and eternal youth.

THE RED COLLECTION – SPECIAL ISSUE

When MiNDFOOD discovered that 27 women die of heart disease every day in Australia, and 48 women die in New Zealand, we knew we had to join the fight. The hope is that by raising awareness of this alarming number, women and their families will take charge of their heart health through gaining knowledge of what to look for and reducing risk factors. Women from all walks of life signed up for the cause, photographed in glorious red, to share their heart stories, whether about themselves or loved ones, and to help spread the word of the good work of the Australian Heart Foundation and its campaign to bring that statistic down.

PSYCHOLOGY: COOL, CALM & COLLECTED

When anger rears its ugly head, our impulse is often to let it out. But research has shown that venting your anger isn’t always effective. Our resident psychologist, Dr Mary Grogan, writes about the most effective ways of dealing with rage.

FITNESS: STEPPING UP WITH SUSIE O’NEILL

Australian Olympic legend and mother of two Susie O’Neill is leading a call for individuals and families to get active. She shares her simple fitness moves that can be done anywhere, any time.

HOME: BOLD & BEAUTIFUL

It takes confidence to decorate with red; whatever hue you opt for, you can be assured of making a striking statement. We look at several stunning options for styling your home – be it the kitchen, bathroom, bedroom or living room – with red.

FOOD: SUPER GREENS AND GRAINS

Bursting with vitamins, phytonutrients, antioxidants and dietary fibre, both leafy greens and certain grains can be an everyday heart-healthy taste sensation.

HEALTH: HEART DISEASE

Heart disease is the biggest killer of women in Australia, yet the tragedy is that it is mostly preventable. The good news is that we can improve our heart health and beat this epidemic. The first step is awareness and a heart health check. MiNDFOOD talks to experts in the field of cardiovascular health.
