Inside our November issue

MiNDFOOD ushers in a new era in beauty in our exciting November issue, also featuring our favourite spring recipes and an intimate interview with Naomi Watts.

Inside our November issue

COVER STORY: NAOMI WATTS ON BEING DIANA
Naomi Watts has put herself under intense scrutiny for her controversial decision to take on the role of the late Princess of Wales. She talks to MiNDFOOD about why she felt compelled to tackle what has been the most intimidating role of her career.

BIGGER BEAUTY SECTION
MiNDFOOD ushers in a new era in beauty with a bigger beauty section compiled by our new Beauty Director, Liz Hancock. The 20+ page section covers the latest beauty news and must-haves
as well as expert interviews, including a one-on-one with Narciso Rodriguez.

SPRING MENU
Add a punch of flavour to your everyday meals with a simple marinade or hit of spice. MiNDFOOD’s Weekly Menu Plan once again dishes up some delicious meals including chargrilled beef fillets with horseradish, tarragon and caper butter; roasted kumara and quinoa salad with marinated feta; and orange blossom baklava.

COMBATING PIGMENTATION
Many of us feel self-conscious when brown spots suddenly appear on our face and hands. Most Australians over 35 have some form of pigment spotting (hyperpigmentation) caused by sun exposure, hormone fluctuations or use of products containing chemical fragrances that can react to sunlight. MiNDFOOD looks at the different forms of hyperpigmentation and how you can treat it.

UNKNOWN ENEMY
Ruptured brain aneurysms are fatal in about 40 per cent of cases and half the victims are younger than 50, and most commonly females. Dr Andrew Davidson, consultant surgeon at Macquarie
University Hospital in Australia, says more awareness of the condition is needed and if you, or someone you are with, experiences a sudden “thunderclap headache” go straight to the emergency room. Don’t go to bed to try to sleep it off.

BULLYING
Bullying is a huge problem in this country – from kindergartens through to the workplace. MiNDFOOD looks at this issue and how anti-bullying programmes are helping to tackle the problem. Plus, what to do if you witness bullying.

TRAVEL: SAN FRANCISCO
The America’s Cup may be over for 2013 but the buzz in San Francisco remains. MiNDFOOD Editor-in-Chief Michael McHugh travelled to the City by the Bay where he dined at pop-up restaurant
Waiheke Island Yacht Club, which now looks set to stay.
