In the dog house: Canadian couple fined after wife walks husband on leash to avoid COVID curfew

A Canadian couple has received large fines for breaking COVID curfew in the most unusual way.

A woman was caught walking her husband on a leash, telling police that she was just out “walking her dog”.

Quebec currently has an 8pm curfew in place for residents in order to curb the spread of the coronavirus.

However, people are allowed to leave the house after 8pm to walk the dog.

The Sherbrooke pair were caught by police at 9pm, as the wife was heading downtown with her crawling husband in tow.

They were each given $CA1,500 fines for their walk.

The couple reportedly said to police that they were merely following the rule for pets.

Sherbrooke Police Department’s Isabelle Gendron told local paper La Tribune that the couple “did not cooperate with police at all”.

Call it puppy love?
