How to Refresh and Reset Skin For The New Season: Expert Advice
At the change of each season, it's important to check in with how your skin looks and feels, and what you might need to update as the weather evolves.

After a summer of sun, pigmentation is a common concern, but dehydration, rough texture or congestion and other issues are equally as likely.

As the weather cools, it’s worth taking stock of the in-clinic approaches that will give the appearance of skin a significant boost, as well as updating our at-home skincare routines. This may involve switching to a more rich, nourishing moisturiser or adding a face oil at night.

We asked Caci Skin Therapist Stevie Cooper to share some quick tips on how to update your skincare right now to bring back your glow and strengthen skin:

Try a peel

Skin peels are great for exfoliation, strengthening the skin’s barrier and delivering intense nourishment. Try Caci’s Signature Peel in clinic, or use Murad’s Replenishing Multi Acid Peel at home.

Tackle pigmentation

Pigmentation, or hyperpigmentation, often worsens in the summer due to increased sun exposure, which triggers the production of melanin. Look for skincare that contains tyrosinase inhibitors. These compounds that block the activity of the enzyme tyrosinase, which plays a crucial role in the production of melanin.

Try Murad’s Rapid Dark Spot Correcting Serum and use an SPF, even in winter, to stop pigmentation from reforming.

Caci’s Sonophoresis Skin Infusion is a non-invasive treatment that uses sound waves to infuse antioxidants and hydrating skincare ingredients deep into the skin.

Deliver deep hydration

At this time of year skin may be dehydrated and in need of revitalisation. There are a number of skincare products that directly target hydration, like Skinsmiths Hydration Booster Facial Mask, or try a Sonophoresis Skin Infusion treatment in clinic that uses sound waves to infuse antioxidants and hydrating skincare ingredients deep into the dermis, or deeper layers of the skin.

Injectable treatment Profhilo is an option for extra, beneath-the-skin hydration.

Proactive aging

Improve signs of wrinkles and sun damage by using a retinol skincare product to increase cell turnover and normalise skin cell function. In clinic, prep with skin conditioning treatments and work towards microneeding, photorejuvanation or fractional C02 Laser.

Boost your nutrition

Eat your colours and be sure to include foods rich in essential fatty acids. Don’t forget to eat your water too! Water rich foods are great for hydrating the skin from within.

Try these: Murad Replenishing Multi Acid Peel, Murad Rapid Dark Spot Correcting Serum, Skinsmiths Hydration Booster Facial Mask and Skinsmiths LED Facial Mask.
