What goes around comes around and nothing demonstrates this more than fashion trends.
Right now it’s the classic printed silk scarf returning to the spotlight as a must-have accessory to add some flair to spring outfits.
Last year we were all loving the scarf over a baseball cap look, but this year that trend seems to have morphed into numerous new ways to add a modern twist to the elegant accessory beloved for decades.
In recent weeks celebrities such as Alexa Chung and Jennifer Lawrence have been spotted on their Euro jaunts wrapping the scarf around the waist, but not just over swimsuits, but jeans too.
Another high summer hack we’re itching to be a part of? Wearing a luxe scarf ‘pirate-style’ wrapped around the head. It’s the perfect solution to keep salty summer locks under control – plus, it requires zero effort – a serious win – as you head from the beach to the bar, or dinner.
But the moment that really solidified our desire to return a silk scarf to high rotation in our accessory approach was the recent Copenhagen Fashion Week. Known as an incubator of all the coolest nonchalant fashion trends, plenty of guests were seen arriving wearing a jaunty scarf on their neck or bags.
Furthermore, hip brand Baum und Pferdgarten sent models down their runway with the hip-wrapped style previously mentioned, as well as with colourful silk scarves woven through the hair in a single long braid. The brand played on jockey and equestrian influences (there was a real horse on the runway) in its spring/summer 2026 collection, meaning the plethora of scarves were right at home, and also featured wrapped around necks and caps in looks in the show.

It was the final push we needed to start scrolling, looking to make a new scarf our own. In the coming months we think we might even take Vogue’s suggestion, and ditch the Labubu and wrap a scarf around our handbag handles once again.
