The official trailer for Game of Thrones prequel House of the Dragon is here.
Based on George R.R. Martin’s Fire & Blood, the series is set 200 years before the events of Game of Thrones and tells the story of House Targaryen.
The 10-episode series debuts on Sunday 21 August.
The release of the trailer comes shortly after Game of Thrones author George R.R. Martin confessed he was “apprehensive” about the prequel.
“It’s always a little apprehensive when you turn your baby over to foster parents,” Martin said in a featurette about the series named A New Reign.
“But I’m involved in this. It’s great to have Ryan [Condal], who’s a great writer and someone who really knew my work. He’s going to do his best to remain faithful to it.
“There’s always a little suspense too … How good is it going to be? But I think I’m in good hands with Ryan and Miguel [Sapochnik, House of the Dragon director].”
