Hermès exhibition

The public exhibition, which will be held at the Foundation Hall within the Museum of Contemporary Art, Sydney (October 2 to 6) will showcase eight Hermès craftsmen working just as they would in the Hermès workshops in France.

It will provide a fascinating insight into the traditional values of Hermès in the crafting of fine objects; and an opportunity for visitors to meet and exchange with the Hermès artisans.

Small leather goods, saddles and other iconic objects from Hermès will also be brought to life during the course of the exhibition.

Designer blankets a trend

A growing number of fashion designers are delving into homeware right now, especially blankets.

Zambesi even draped them around models shoulders at New Zealand Fashion Week last week.

You too can drape a designer blanket around you if you dine at North Wharf, Wynyard Quarter this month.

North Wharf has partnered with Adrian Hailwood and Stolen Girlfriends Club who were asked to create a blanket connected to the sea.

Hailwood’s design pays homage with a water unicorn. The emblem ties in with the print story of his autumn-winter 2015 collection which took inspiration from King George V’s Royal coat of arms.

Stolen Girlfriends Club’s black and white abstract ‘splash print’ ties back to crashing waves and chaos in nature. The designers are keen surfers.

The blankets are not for sale but customers can go into a draw to win one.
