Palazzo Gucci, located inside the Palazzo della Mercanzia, is considered the historic home of the luxury Italian fashion house, founded by Guccio Gucci in 1921.
The complex has previously hosted displays honouring the history of the brand but has now been transformed and reopened to include the new experience that walks the public through the heritage and cultural touchpoints of the brand.

Gucci Storia has been brought to life through the vision of Gucci’s Artistic Director Demna, extending his mission to further intertwine the history of the brand and its modern relevance.
With this in mind, the exhibition blends traditional museum or gallery-like displays with more unexpected, immersive artistic elements. Unfolding over the building’s first and second floors, the display encompasses a number of rooms that use different approaches and mediums to tell the story.
There is a portrait gallery presenting lineage and identity, a gallery of tapestries that showcase the Florentine craft deeply connected to the house, a cabinet of curiosities with artifacts the fashion house’s archives and even a recreation of an 80s-style office/living room known as Galleria Gucci, once occupying a space above Gucci’s New York store.

Then of course, there are the iconic Gucci outfits and accessories that the world have come to know and instantly recognise.
Like any great exhibition, feeling inspired after the exploration is rewarded with the ability to shop, thanks to a ground-floor boutique that forms part of Palazzo Gucci.
There is also the Michelin-starred restaurant Gucci Osteria da Massimo Bottura, and Gucci Giardino, the all-day café and cocktail bar to round out the full Gucci experience.

Gucci Storia is open to the public now, at Palazzo Gucci, Piazza della Signoria 10, 50122, Florence, Italy.
