We’re always eager to absorb the vision of the country’s best designers at Australian Fashion Week.
Runway shows are designed to present each look from a new fashion collection, but also capture the designer’s point of view and aesthetic in polished and tightly edited way. It is aspirational, glamourous and exciting and gives a great insight into what we might be wearing – or trends that might trickle down – over the next few months.

However, what’s also fascinating is keeping an eye on the stylish guests at these shows. They represent retail buyers, those working in fashion media, personal stylists, VIP shoppers of each designer label, and of course celebrities and social media personalities.
Each one has their own unique relationship with the fashion world, and what we love taking note of is the way they interpret designer’s collections and make them their own. Some wear a complete look lent to them by the label, but others take trending pieces and fold them into their an already-existing wardrobe.
Sometimes in street-style snaps, we simply love seeing them use the opportunity to wheel out a fabulous pair of shoes, or play ‘eye spy’ to narrow down which of this season’s designer handbags is most-wanted.
This year expect to see both minimalist-tailoring and more personality-filled ensembles with less-expected colour combinations,
As the 2026 Australian Fashion Week moves from its previous venue at Carriageworks to the Museum of Contemporary Art Australia (MCA) on the harbour, we highlight some of the stylish arrivals.
