New seasons bring not only new fashion but new accessories to perfectly finish off your outfit.
Luxury brands are always updating their handbag offerings but its hard to remember a season with so many distinctive new styles to covet.
Playful and statement elements are there – think Pharrell Williams putting a Goyoza-shaped pouch and a monogrammed bag shaped like a lobster on the runway at Louis Vuitton – with more unique shapes on offer. However, plenty of the most-wanted bags offer an effortless sense of chic that will last well and remain relevant, to become investment pieces in any wardrobe.
Some trends, like the elongated ‘East-West’ bags cropping up, have been slowly creeping on to the trend radar and are now suddenly everywhere, and some are simply a new twist on a house code that previously existed.
There are plenty of stunning new pieces, but these are the top five getting plenty of attention right now.
Gucci 73
Inspired by an archival bucket bag from the Italian house, Gucci’s famous horse bit hardware has a fresh new approach and the compact style is seriously useful too, able to be worn crossbody, over the shoulder or held as a handbag.
Chanel 25
Introduced by Dua Lipa in the a new campaign, Chanel’s slouchy new hobo style will be a big focus this year. It was first teased at the brand’s cruise 2025 collection in Marseille, France, last May before being featured in its spring 2025 ready-to-wear show in October. With signature quilting, interlaced chain, and multiple pockets, it comes in three sizes.
Louis Vuitton LV Biker
Edgy and cool, the LV Biker is a tribute to the classic biker jacket. It is intended to embody the house’s S/S 25 collection’s theme of “soft power,” and features the metal LV Circle logo. It’s available in three different sizes, in black and a ‘denim’ grey.
Dior D-Journey
Dreamed up by Maria Grazia Chiuri, the D-Journey is slouchy, soft and modern, bending into a hobo shape when carried. It already comes in three sizes and three colourways – black, white and tan as well as the recognisable navy logo jacquard.
Alaïa Le Teckel
Not entirely new, The French brand’s oblong Le Teckel bag, which means “dachshund” in French, became a cult hit in 2024, and will likely be even bigger this year with a range of new colours and finishes for the season. Similar shapes can also be found at Prada, Khaite and Cos.
Fendi Peekaboo Fringe
Fendi has updated it’s elegant Peekaboo bag with a fringe finish that should look more boho, but actually just looks expensive and hip. We love the soft dusky blue-grey colourway, but it also comes in black.
