Kim Jones recruited the most famous names in modelling for his debut Fendi couture show.
Legendary catwalk stars Kate Moss, Naomi Campbell and Christy Turlington were joined by two of the younger generation of fashion superstars – Cara Delevingne and Bella Hadid – as well as surprise guest Demi Moore.
Moss’ 18-year-old daughter, Lila Grace Moss Hack, also made an appearance at the Palais Brongniart in Paris on Wednesday.

Metallic hues featured heavily in the collection, with English designer Jones including nods to his menswear roots with structured tailoring seen on trouser and skirt suits.

There were plenty of feminine touches too; Campbell closed proceedings in a sweeping silver dress with matching cape. Another model stunned in an intricate black lace dress which spilled onto the floor around her and featured a low cut cowl back.

Speaking to The New York Times, Jones said his debut designs were inspired by Virginia Woolf’s Orlando: A Biography, a novel about an English nobleman who lived during the reign of Elizabeth I and undergoes a mysterious change of sex.

“Couture is very personal. It is, after all, about garments made to order, for a single person,” he told the publication.
In the show notes, this Orlando quote was shared: “Clothes have, they say, more important offices than to merely keep us warm. They change our view of the world and the world’s view of us.”

Jones was named Fendi’s artistic director of womenswear in September.
