New Zealand jewellery designer Sally Frewin has found another use for No. 8 wire by releasing a range of Fix-8 bangles made from the fencing wire.
Frewin was inspired by the Kiwi “can do” attitude often referred to as the ‘No. 8 wire mentality’, a reference to how the wire has been adapted for countless uses in New Zealand farms, factories and homes.
The bangles are made of No. 8 fencing wire (8mm gauge steel) electroplated in silver and copper or with a brushed metal finish.
Frewin said she wanted a bangle that looked great but that also acts as a fun reminder of a positive ‘can-do’ approach to life.
