Fashion Meets Sustainability

By Nicole Saunders

Fashion Meets Sustainability

Fashion and sustainability can go hand in hand. Make/Use – an innovative project dedicated to zero-waste garment creation – has transformed Objectspace in Ponsonby into an ethical fashion workshop. You don’t need to be a professional seamstress to participate either, as lead designer Holly McQuillan encourages visitors to Make/Use to create their own simple yet experimental garments. Five free patterns for zero-waste T-shirts are available at Objectspace so you can put your creativity to the test at home too.

Make/Use is in its final week at Objectspace, 8 Ponsonby Road, Auckland. The gallery is open Monday to Saturday from 10am till 5pm and admission is free.
