Fashion Meets Sustainability

Fashion and sustainability can go hand in hand. Make/Use – an innovative project dedicated to zero-waste garment creation – has transformed Objectspace in Ponsonby into an ethical fashion workshop. You don’t need to be a professional seamstress to participate either, as lead designer Holly McQuillan encourages visitors to Make/Use to create their own simple yet experimental garments. Five free patterns for zero-waste T-shirts are available at Objectspace so you can put your creativity to the test at home too.

Make/Use is in its final week at Objectspace, 8 Ponsonby Road, Auckland. The gallery is open Monday to Saturday from 10am till 5pm and admission is free.

Elizabeth Arden to Open Flagship Store in Auckland

Local Elizabeth Arden fans have reason to rejoice – the iconic New York-born beauty house is set to open the doors to its first New Zealand boutique later this year. The flagship store will provide beauty buffs with an intimate space to explore Arden’s skincare technology, colour and foundation line-up, and fragrance range. Arden will be in good company as it joins the growing luxury fashion destination of lower Queen Street.

Elizabeth Arden will open at 62 Queen Street in October 2015.
