Sydney fashion label Romance Was Born by Anna Plunkett and Luke Sales is known for its creativity and otherworldly designs.
As a child Sales says he was encouraged to express his creativity but realises many children aren’t so lucky, which is one of the reasons why he and Plunkett accepted a commission by the National Gallery of Victoria (NGV) to create a very special exhibition for the NGV’s new children’s gallery.
Express Yourself: Romance Was Born for Kids encourages hands on creativity as well as an opportunity to let the imagination run wild.
One place the exhibition welcomes you too is Rainbow Land where the fashion label brings the colours of the rainbow to life in displays of their favourite toys, fashion, curious objects and works of art.
There are also interactive displays including two lily ponds projected onto the floor which you can step upon, though you have to be quick because they move.
A vibrant children’s activity book has also been produced to coincide with the exhibition.
Express Yourself: Romance Was Born for Kids runs at the NGV until March 22, 2015.
