The Duke and Duchess of Sussex were joined by the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, with the service being the last time they’ll all appear in an official royal capacity before the Sussexes step down as senior royals on 31 March.
The service was the final public engagement in the UK for Harry and Meghan as senior members of the royal family.
All eyes were on the two Duchesses and their striking outfits. Meghan wore a bespoke green cape dress from New Zealand-born designer Emilia Wickstead.
She wore a matching green hat by William Chambers and carried a green bag by Gabriela Hearst.
Kate recycled a red coat by Catherine Walker, which she has previously worn on Christmas Day at Sandringham in 2018.
She paired the coat with a red Prada clutch and red Gianvito Rossi heels.
Commonwealth Day celebrates the global network of 54 countries from Africa, Asia, the Caribbean and Americas, the Pacific and Europe. The Commonwealth is made up of more than two billion people.
The Queen called for unity in her Commonwealth Day message, asking that the people and countries of the Commonwealth “move forward with fresh resolve to enhance the Commonwealth’s influence for good in our world”.
She also urged action to protect the environment, saying it is “encouraging to see how the countries of the Commonwealth continue to devise new ways of working together to achieve prosperity, whilst protecting our planet”.
