Experience the magic of Titanic with live orchestra
To celebrate the 20th anniversary of James Cameron's Titanic, a live show is coming to The Civic Theatre, Auckland.

2017 marks 20 years since James Cameron’s Oscar-winning film, Titanic, first screened. To celebrate the anniversary, the record-breaking motion picture will screen in January with live music performed by the 72 piece Auckland Philharmonic Orchestra and the North Shore Children’s Choir.

Titanic Live aims to create a more immersive viewing experience through the addition of live music. British conductor Neil Thomson, London-based vocal soloist Clara Sanabras, and American pipes and whistles soloist Eric Rigler – who was the original piper in the film – join the international production.

“This experience is beyond anything I’ve seen in the theatre,” says Titanic director James Cameron after viewing the Titanic Live premiere. “When hearing the music out front and dominating, you really realise how the music drives the emotion of the movie. I felt these big surges of powerful emotion whether it was the elation of the love story or the dread, the fear. A beautiful experience.”

Titanic Live will play at The Civic Theatre in Auckland on January 24th and 25th 2018 with tickets on sale from now from Ticketmaster
