Yes, you read that correctly!
According to a study, people who watch videos of our furry feline friends have more energy and less negative feelings.
Jessica Gall Myrick, assistant professor at The Media School of Indiana University where the study was undertaken, reported that, ‘for most people, it improved their mood.’
‘Specifically we found that after watching Internet cat videos that [participants] felt more hopeful, more positive, more inspired and they also tended to feel less anxious, less angry — we saw a decrease in negative emotions,’ she continued.
Another finding from the experiment, was that most of those viewing the recordings of the cats, were either at work or were studying. While you might feel guilty about watching kittens while you procrastinate, Myrick claims that this is actually beneficial.
Even when you’re at your desk, watching a few minutes of kittens playing around could ‘help people take on tough tasks afterwards,’ she claims.
We’ve finally found the purr-fect way to relax!
