Local beauty brand Ethique have added a new item to their impressive range of eco products. Sampler boxes in three beauty categories – Hair, Body and Face – contain miniature versions of top-selling items to help users find their favourite product.
Aligning with Ethique’s sustainable practices, each sampler box comes in 100% compostable packaging and all products are vegan, cruelty-free and 100% natural.
Founded by young Kiwi biologist Brianne West, Ethique aims to prevent the manufacturing of plastic bottles by creating solid beauty products that can be packaged in compostable wrapping. “I thought [why] are we packing shampoo, which we know is 70 per cent water, and conditioner, which is up to 95% water, in plastic and shipping it around the world?” West says of her decision to create Ethique.
Since its inception in 2012, Ethique has stopped over 160,000 plastic containers from being produced and contributing to landfill and ocean pollution. On top of this, the company is certified climate neutral, a living wage employer and powers its lab with 100% renewable energy.
