Sydney Sweeney and Selena Gomez were two of those choosing to wear lipstick red gowns for their arrival on the red carpet at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles. Sweeney rocked a plunging scarlet silk Oscar De La Renta gown for the occasion, while Gomez went for a more minimalist, high-neck custom Louis Vuitton gown.
The bold colours were arguably the most dramatic elements of their gowns, as many stars opted for slimline, column shapes over any fussy detailing or full skirts.
‘Wednesday’ star Jenna Ortega looked slightly more maximalist in her bejeweled Givenchy by Sarah Burton attire, consisting of a top slung together with large gemstone pieces, paired with a black skirt with a thigh-high slit. The look was an edgy take on the ‘naked dress’ look returning to attention this season.
The awards ceremony recognises those starring in, and working behind the scenes, on the TV and streaming series that have made their mark over the past year.
