The newly married actress is keen to have children with new husband, Dave McCary who she married in secret back in September.

While promoting her new film, Croods: A New Age, the actress said  “I feel pretty good about starting my own pack. Although I don’t think that my pack would be quite as physically capable as the Croods are. They’re pretty rough and tumble and I don’t know if my pack would be as rough and tumble.”

The couple got engaged in December last year after more than two years of dating, and Dave confirmed the news at the time by taking to Instagram to share a selfie in which Emma showed off her new ring.

And he simply captioned the image with an emoji of two love hearts.

The actress’ perspective on having children “has changed as I’ve gotten older”.

“I never babysat or anything. As a teenager, I was like, ‘I’m never getting married, I’m never having kids.’

“And then I got older and I was like, ‘I really want to get married, I really want to have kids.'”

She explained: “I don’t think it’s mutually exclusive, career or love. Meryl Streep seems very in love with her husband. That’s a very great family and she’s the best there is. So people can find a way to do both, it’s just about prioritising.”
