The American model, actress and author is stepping up as the new face of Viktor & Rolf’s supremely popular perfume Flowerbomb.
Created by the avant-garde fashion duo Viktor Horsting and Rolf Snoeren 18 years ago, the scent has consistently remained in global best-seller lists. Its heady bouquet of fresh and sweet notes has proven a hit with people of all ages and Ratajkowski is likely to only extend its audience further.
Elements of orchid, jasmine, rose and freesia are blended with a warm base of vanilla and musk in the famous perfume. A number of spin-off’s or ‘flanker’ scents have also been released, including the recent Flowerbomb Ruby Orchid and Flowerbomb Dew.
“So much of what represents femininity is delicate. I like that Flowerbomb is about strength as much as it is about femininity,” Ratajkowski said in a release announcing her involvement.
The star, who is known for runway roles and her book ‘My Body’, a series of autobiographical essays that explore what it means to be a woman and seen as a commodity, tells People magazine she loves the perfume’s wide appeal.
“I feel like my 60-year-old aunt knows it, but so does my 12-year-old cousin,” she says. “Flowerbomb is a fragrance everybody knows. I grew up knowing it.”
The designers behind the brand point out Ratajkowski is the perfect person to represent the scent.
“We have admired Emily for a long time and we’re happy to welcome her to the Viktor&Rolf family,” Viktor Horsting and Rolf Snoeren confirm in the release.
“As her work clearly testifies, Emily is a multifaceted talent. Her wide range of qualities and talents make her into the perfect embodiment of Flowerbomb.”
Ratajkowski appears in the fragrance’s film short directed by filmmakers Torso Solutions, featuring imagery artistically directed and captured by photographers Inez & Vinoodh.
