Elizabeth Arden’s Prevage Anti-Aging Daily Serum 2.0 now supercharged with powerful new ingredients

Elizabeth Arden’s renewed Prevage Anti-Aging Daily Serum tackles lines and wrinkles, dark spots, firmness and elasticity with updated science that offers proof, not just promises.

If you know anything at all about skincare, you’ll likely have heard of Elizabeth Arden’s Prevage line. In particular, its anti-aging treatment serum that first landed on shelves in 2006 and has remained a top-seller ever since.

It has now been improved, supercharged with 10 powerful new ingredients for 4x the antioxidant power and gains a slightly updated moniker, Elizabeth Arden Prevage Anti-Aging Daily Serum 2.0.

We all get nervous when an iconic product is tinkered with, in case the things we love about it are altered. The good news is, we can attest the best parts have been retained and the silky, lightweight serum looks and feels reassuringly familiar. However now it contains some impressive new additions that make it even better at improving the signs of aging and keeping skin in great condition and looking its best.

The original serum is so well-known because, despite an avalanche of new products arriving on shelves each month, it has long been credited by experts and skincare enthusiasts alike, as an example of a product that does what it says it will.

Which, by the way, is a lot more than just making your face feel a bit softer and more hydrated, although it does those too. The full Elizabeth Arden Prevage collection, which includes an incredible broad-spectrum SPF, moisture cream, eye serum and more, has amassed 220 beauty awards in 15 years.

Antioxidant superstar

That hero status and kudos is thanks in part to key ingredient Idebenone, a powerful antioxidant that’s also responsible for the serum’s famous yellow tint. It’s said to outperform other regularly-touted skincare ingredients in protecting skin from environmental damage that can majorly impact the way your skin looks and ages.

Idebenone was originally developed for use in medical science to treat Alzheimer’s and for preserving vital organs during transplant. It was then discovered when applied topically, its exceptional antioxidant properties could provide significant protection to skin cells from environmental damage like the sun, pollution and smoke. Previously blamed on genetics, the related research showed these environmental challenges can exacerbate the appearance of pigmentation, texture and lines and wrinkles in particular.

In 2006 Elizabeth Arden was the first to partner with global pharmaceutical giant Allergan to bring cosmeceutical-grade skincare to the beauty counter, with the launch of the original serum. Idebenone has since gone on to form the basis for the entire Prevage line, revered for its effectiveness and influencing the ongoing boom in interest in how antioxidants can help maintain great skin.

Silky new serum protects, corrects and perfects

Not a brand to rest on its laurels, Elizabeth Arden’s research and development experts are always looking at ways to improve its offering, hence the arrival of Elizabeth Arden Prevage Anti-Aging Daily Serum 2.0.

It’s an all-rounder for anyone looking to visibly improve established signs of aging as well as protect their skin against future damage. It also improves and corrects texture, clarity and suppleness, refines pores, lessens patchy pigmentation and dark spots and helps maintain a healthy, radiance, to deliver younger-looking skin. A convincing proposition!

Idebenone retains its star status but has been joined by Vitamins C and E to promote radiance and resilience, a Peptide Blend to encourage collagen production, Ginger Extract for elasticity and to hone in on dark spots, THPE to lift and firm, as well as Hibiscus Seed, Clary Sage, Peony Petal Extract, Bushclover Flower Extract and Indian Cassia Flower Extract to improve overall signs of aging and provide an envy-inducing glow.

The smooth, silky fluid goes on after cleansing and any skin prep like an essence, and is intended to be applied both morning and night so you retain the protective benefits when out and about, as well as at night when skin is in repair mode. It sinks in quickly so it’s easily followed up with further skincare, SPF and importantly, sits beautifully under makeup.

The pump has had a slight re-do too, with a small window to indicate when you’re running low, without compromising the integrity of the precious and potent ingredients inside.
