Elevate your next get-together at kingi’s new private dining space
Boasting an interactive kitchen, stunning heritage decor and seasonally-crafted fare, kingi's new private dining space is the perfect place for special occasions and meetings.

Situated at the base of The Hotel Britomart, the team has introduced a stunning new offering for private get-togethers. Nestled off restaurant’s main dining room, an arched glass doorway and floor-to-ceiling curtains lead you into kingi Private.

Reflecting kingi’s beautiful blend of modern and heritage-style design, led by Cheshire Architects, the space is warm and welcoming. During the day, light filters in through the brick-lined window and in the evening, mood lighting reflects off the shimmering fish-scale chandelier for the perfect ambiance.

In designing this private offering, the team have come up with an array of dining options to suit different needs. The large swamp Kauri dining table sits up with 14 guests, while the space can also be adapted to a 12-person catered meeting or presentation, with a recessed 65″ touchscreen TV, wireless speakerphone and built-in surround sound.

If you’ve dined at kingi before, then you’ll know that the award-winning restaurant is a champion of seasonality and sustainably-sourced seafood. Crafted by kingi co-founder Tom Hishon, the five course dining menu at kingi Private takes guests on a divine tasting journey, echoing kingi’s ethos with a fine-dining edge.

The autumn menu sees comforting classics reimagined with Hishon’s signature flair, such as paua sausage rolls with wakame HP sauce and smoked kahawai with fromage blanc, pine nuts and pear. Melt-in-your mouth wagyu beef from Ohau Downs Station is standout main and for dessert, indulge in three delicious bites of feijoa sorbet, artisan dairy-free chocolates and gingerbread topped with Swiss Tête de Moine cheese.

To elevate the dining experience, kingi offers thoughtfully curated wine matches alongside the menu.

One of the highlights of kingi Private is the glass-boxed larder kitchen, where diners can get a special peek at the chef’s as they prep and plate up food, giving the feel of an exclusive chef’s table experience.

kingi Private is available to book from 7am – late for full day events, 7am – 5pm for conferences and 6pm – late for private dining. The five-course menu is priced from $155pp with a combined minimum spend of $1500. The Hotel Britomart also offers bespoke Stay + Dine and Stay + Meet packages.
