Duchess of Cambridge, Kate Middleton, glitters in Diana’s diamond tiara as she and Prince William join the Queen for a lavish state banquet held in honour of the visiting Dutch royals.

Kate Middleton joined husband Prince William and other senior royals for the lavish dinner hosted in honour of King Willem-Alexander and Queen Maxima of the Netherlands.

The Duchess, who wore a blue Alexander McQueen gown, was pictured being driven into the palace wearing the Lover’s Knot tiara. Sometimes referred to as the Cambridge Lover’s Knot, it is one of the best-known tiaras in the British royal family’s collection, mostly thanks to it being a favorite of the late Princess Diana. Her classic updo showed off her pearl drop earrings, which also belonged to Diana.

The royal mom of three also wore another glittering piece from the monarch’s collection: Queen Alexandra’s wedding necklace, which was a favorite of the Queen Mother’s.

The Dutch royals kicked off their two-day state visit – the first by a sitting Dutch monarch in 40 years – with a ceremonial welcome on Horse Guards Parade this morning before carrying out engagements at the Palace of Westminster, Westminster Abbey and Clarence House.

The Queen, 92, used the opportunity to speak publicly about Brexit for the first time, saying in a speech that ‘as we look toward a new partnership with Europe’ the values shared by the UK and the Netherlands ‘are our greatest assets’.
