Drop of the Week: te Pa 2017 Sauvignon Blanc
This aromatic wine is perfect for the festive season.

te Pa’s 2017 Sauvignon Blanc is an aromatic, fruity wine that will cool you down on a summer’s night.

This wine delivers aromatics of grapefruit, stone fruit, passionfruit and nettles. The palate is concentrated and vibrant, with citrus, fresh herb, blackcurrant and passionfruit flavours. With a lovely mid-palate weight and texture, the te Pa Sauv has a refreshingly crisp finish supported by some intriguing mineral and flint notes.

The fruit for this wine was harvested from the best blocks from each of te Pa’s three main Sauvignon Blanc vineyards in Marlborough, each selected for great fruit expression.

The blocks were fermented separately, mostly in stainless steel tanks, before blending and then ageing on light lees. 10% of the blend was handpicked, and then whole bunch pressed directly to barrel, to ferment in 320 L French cigar-shaped oak barrels.

This wine is a great match with all seafood, particularly oysters, clams and mussels. The crisp flavours work well with fresh summer salads, and matches perfectly with a soft goat cheese.

An award-winning wine, te Pa’s Sauvignon Blanc has earned the following accolades:

  • Gold Medal, China Wine & Spirits Awards 2017
  • 93 points & 5 Stars, Sam Kim, Wine Orbit, 2017

This divine wine is available nation-wide. Get in touch with te Pa directly to find your local stockist. Trade please contact te Pa’s NZ distributor here.
