Drop of the Week: Sirromet 2014 Pinot Gris
A delicious wine for a long weekend.

Sirromet is a family owned winery that is situated at Mount Cotton, that opened in 2000. This particular wine was picked over a period of two weeks in 2014, to gain more complex fruit characters.

It is a rich intense style Pinot Gris – very fragrant, creamy white fruits, good spinal acidity and firm textural palate. On the nose, creamy white peach and pear notes, with a touch of honeysuckle.

Sirromet attributes the flavour and quality of the wines to exceptional fruit grown in its Granite Belt and Mount Cotton vineyards. The distinctive Granite Belt terroir, combined with the high elevation of its vineyards, rewards Sirromet’s winemakers with unique flavours, texture and structure.

Executive chef, Andrew Mirosch recommends serving the 2014 Pinot Gris with smoked salmon. Top this dish with avocado, roasted macadamia nuts, goat cheese, croutons, red onions, baked beetroot and topped off with a tomato and chive mayonnaise.

Visit the cellar door in Mount Cotton or simply purchase online.
