On Wednesday night the lakeside town of Wanaka was treated to its first Trelise Cooper fashion show. But there was more to the event than glitz and glamour; the event was held to raise funds for Wanaka’s Upper Clutha Hospice Trust. The Theatre of Fashion event, which was held at the Glendhu Station Woolsheed, was an immense success. Over 600 people attended matinee and evening shows, raising over $40,000 in total
Dame Trelise was thrilled with the success of the event: “I am so blown away by the huge support for the Hospice and interest for the Trelise Cooper Theatre of Fashion. Thank you to all the people who bought tickets to support this fundraiser. My appreciation and gratitude to Lucy Lucas for her passion in creating this event and her amazing team of volunteers who all contributed to make this spectacularly successful.”
The fundraiser was arranged by Lucy Lucas, owner of Wanaka boutique women’s fashion store Escape Clothing. Escape Clothing stocks Trelise Cooper. Lucas, who lost her mother to cancer two years ago, says she’s been amazed by the interest in and support for the event.
