Marc Jacobs has announced his new campaign star, and it’s only the one, the only, the inimitable Cher. Yes, we do believe.
The designer made the announcement via Instagram where he posted a photo of the 69 year-old chart topper in the campaign, wearing a dramatic sequinned dress and tuxedo jacket, luscious black hair flying everywhere. It’s so fierce.
Jacobs captioned the photo,
“The amazing and beautiful CHER! Photographed by David Sims for our Fall/Winter campaign.. This is just the beginning…. More to come!!”
The pair attended the Met Gala in New Year together earlier this year.
It’s been a banner year for luxury labels using older women in their campaigns. We’ve already seen Joan Didion for Celine and Joni Mitchell for Saint Laurent. Who’s next? We’re hoping for Betty White to make an appearance.
