Cate Blanchett fans will know the actress likes to recycle her red carpet looks.

Now the star has taken fashion recycling to another level by debuting a top made of old cutlery.

For a fan event for her new film Borderlands, the Aussie legend wore a halterneck creation comprising 102 spoons.

The piece was by Swedish brand Hodakova and designed by Ellen Hodakova Larsson, who sourced the antique spoons from the Swedish countryside.

According to a statement sent to CNN, the designer “is dedicated to building the first fully sustainable fashion house in the world and change the fashion industry’s perspective on the possibilities of circularity”.

“By converting old materials into luxurious goods, Hodakova crafts stories through repurposing and conceptually upcycling everyday found materials into one-of-a-kind pieces,” the statement said.
