Lovers of Downton Abbey shared a collective tear over news that the show was coming an end.
In March, executive producer Gareth Neame released a statement saying that it was with a heavy heart that ‘Downton Abbey’ will be closing its doors at the end of the sixth season.
“It’s focused on the end of an era. The dying of the light. The slight sense of finality. It is not Downton pulling up the drawbridge, not a thunderbolt that destroys it. We don’t have to have completely happy endings, but for the audience it is not a satisfying ending to have the place blown up. It is overwhelmingly a positive show, even when melancholic.”
Now, in a way that the Crawleys never could, the cast and crew of Downton have documented the show’s final days with a hashtag.
