Campbell and Dunn front Burberry campaign

Naomi Campbell has rejoined the Burberry cast for the first time since her campaign for the iconic British brand in 2001, and this time she’s striking a pose alongside fellow “industry icon” model Jourdan Dunn.

It’s Dunn’s fourth campaign for Burberry since spring/summer 2011.

And while it may be the first time the models have posed together it’s not the first time they’ve walked together. During the 2012 Summer Olympics closing ceremony, Campbell and Dunn joined other British models, including Kate Moss, Lily Cole and Stella Tennant, on the catwalk wearing bespoke fashions created by British designers specifically for the event.

The new Burberry campaign was shot by Mario Testino in London under the creative direction of Christopher Bailey, Burberry chief creative and CEO.

The brand’s newest interpretations of its classic Burberry trench coat are at the heart of the campaign which celebrates the collection’s bright book cover designs and hand-painted pieces.

The trench coat collection is available now globally from www.burberry.com with the full Burberry spring/summer 2015 collection hitting stores on January 5.

Showing skin

Garments that show midriff are banned at Flemington during the Melbourne Cup.

This season it’s probably one of two of the 11 strict dress regulations that could trip fashionistas up.

The other banned item that is currently fashionable is a playsuit, which we argue could be delightfully chic.

We’re on the side of Victoria Racing Club when it comes to midriff baring tops. Crop tops are mostly not chic nor appropriate though there are, of course, always exceptions to the rule.

Skin revealing garments proliferated the catwalks during the recent spring/summer 2015 collections showings in New York, London, Milan and Paris.

And, as many demonstrated, baring a little bit of skin can be sophisticated as well as sexy.
