The epitome of elegance; The Duchess of Cornwall and  Dame Judi Dench caught up over a soft-serve vanilla ice cream, complete with a chocolate flake and plenty of laughter.

A soft serve shared between two of the world’s most regal ladies – could anything be more perfect?

Two worlds aligned this week when Hollywood met royalty at Queen Victoria’s former holiday home on the Isle of Wight.

Judi Dench, who has portrayed Queen Victoria (twice!) as well as Queen Elizabeth I during her legendary acting career, welcomed the Duchess to the island after she arrived at the monarch’s private beach. The queen of acting is a patron of the Friends of Osborne House, so she played host, showing Camilla a restored room that was used in the filming of Victoria and Abdul. Queen Victoria and Prince Albert bought Osborne House in 1845, and was one of Victoria’s favorite places to stay. The house was given to the state after Victoria’s death, and is now open to the public.

The pair cooled themselves down with a couple of ice creams. Camilla had a near miss, her ice cream almost dripping onto her cream dress. But Judi Dench saved the day, swiftly offering the Duchess a napkin to catch the drip.

Camilla began her visit by being welcomed by a group of school children. She also met members of staff and volunteers at the Swiss Cottage as well as volunteers and representatives of the Osborne Horse Trials, which opens to the public on Wednesday.

The duo also rode together in a horse and carriage ride, with Camilla up front and Dench greeting the gathered crowds from the back seat.
