Thanks to an entire forest floor of bluebell flowers, Belgium’s Hallerbos forest is the stuff of fairy tales.
The best time to visit this stunning 552 hectare forest is during the bluebell season (European spring) when the blue-violet flowers are particularly vivid.
Another hot visitor’s tip: try and visit during the week as the forest is packed out with tourists come the weekend. And whatever you do, don’t pick any flowers: it’s strictly forbidden to do so in this heritage-listed wood.
