What do Josh Thomas, Stephen K Amos, Celia Pacquola, Marty Sheargold, Dave Hughes, Rove McManus, Sammy J, Luke Heggie, Tom Ballard, Matt Okine and Felicity Ward have in common? They’re all performing at this year’s Sydney Comedy Festival.
Now in its 21st year, the festival is hosting more than 400 shows at venues all over Sydney. There really is something for everyone including kids’ shows featuring stars like Jimmy Rees and Bluey.
International guests
In two Australian exclusives, global superstar Tiffany Haddish (Girls Trip) brings her fearless stand-up show to the stage, while Richard Gadd, creator and writer of global phenomenon Baby Reindeer will be in conversation onstage at the Sydney Opera House.
Take to the seas
The inaugural Sydney Comedy Festival Comedy Cruise will undertake its maiden voyage on an ocean of laughs. Board the HMS Comedy at Darling Harbour and grab a drink at the shipboard bar, before settling down to see the Festival’s funniest comedians all in one place, against the backdrop of beautiful Sydney Harbour.
Empowering women
At Frocking Hilarious, Australia’s leading women comedians unite for a powerful afternoon of laughter and solidarity in support of ActionAid – empowering women and changing the world. More than just a comedy show, it’s a chance to support women’s rights around the world and positive action in the face of climate change.
Crawling for laughs
Another Festival fave, the Sydney Comedy Festival Comedy Crawl, returns bigger and better than ever with six crawls across Sydney hotspots including beachside rooftops in Manly, historic pubs in The Rocks, craft breweries in Rozelle and iconic queer clubs in Oxford St.
Tickets to all shows are on sale now.
