For nine weeks from Saturday 3rd March the New Zealand public will have the unique opportunity to view 47 original artworks from some of our country’s most well-known and emerging artist on the streets of Auckland as part of the Haier Big Hoot Art Trail.
Featuring in the public exhibition will be established talents Dick Frizzell, Jeff Thompson, Flox (Hayley King), Peata Larkin, Weilun Ha and Jessica Pearless, along with some of New Zealand’s most exciting up and coming creatives. Each artist has transformed a 1.65m Owl sculpture into a bespoke piece of art, which will be placed around Auckland city before the Owls are auctioned to raise vital funds for Child Cancer Foundation.
60 smaller ‘Owlets’, many designed by local schools, will also be on display throughout the 10 weeks in participating shopping centres and libraries.
