The annual ceremony is the most refined and stylish occasion on Hollywood’s calendar, and it’s not just the black tie dress code, with its abundance of tuxes, jewels and gowns, that contributes.
Held in Los Angeles Dolby Theatre, the location comes dressed to impress, too. This year, that style is delivered in spades by the Greenroom partner Rolex.
For decades the luxury watchmaker has supported the cinematic world in a number of ways, from its role in iconic films to its partnerships with the most respected names in filmmaking.
That includes relationships with the likes of Martin Scorsese, James Cameron, and Jia Zhang-Ke, reflecting its support of both renowned filmmakers and rising talent. This year oscar-winning actor Leonardo DiCaprio joins their ranks as a Rolex ambassador.
Since 2017, Rolex has also been a dedicated partner of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (AMPAS), joining the organisation in a shared goal of supporting and advancing the arts, including filmmaking.
So it’s fitting the brand has steps up to create the incredibly stylish backstage vibe at this years awards.
The green room theme is designed to reflects the natural world’s restoration, inspired by the Rewilding Chile and Rewilding Argentina initiatives supported by Rolex’s Perpetual Planet Initiative. This unique setting allows nominees, presenters, and guests to experience the intersection of cinema, nature, and craftsmanship.
The room aims to depicts landscapes where native species are returning to the wilderness, and nature is restoring their habitat. With an eye on sustainability, Rolex has employed textiles and light materials in its design. Layers of airy tulle have been imprinted to reveal the fluid contours and soft palette of a mountain landscape set off by lighting diffused through sheer curtains.
