ghd releases blow dry brush
A ghd launch is always cause for conversation, so let us introduce you to the brand’s latest arrival: ghd Duet Blowdry. It’s a hair dryer brush, that, like ghd’s previous release the Duet Style, aims to quickly style your hair from wet to blow-dried using airflow.
But while the Duet Style was all about straight and sleek hair, the new round-barrel brush has bristles that are heated with air to help create a bigger, bouncy and smooth blowdry. It’s designed to give you that result you see in salon where hair dressers nimbly combine a dryer while pulling hair taut with a brush.
Like all ghd tools, the new brush has sensors to keep its temperature stable, which means you get a great result without causing heat damage to strands.
Perfumer H brings inventive perfumes Down Under
British perfumer Lyn Harris (below), was classically trained in Paris and Grasse, France, and worked with many acclaimed brands before creating her own brand, Perfumer H, a new arrival to our shores at MECCA.
Unique luxury fragrances and candles are held in beautiful hand blown glass vessels, while the exceptional scents are unlike any other. Among more obvious blends, lie the surprising – Dust – for example and Ink, Rain Cloud and Marmalade.
Where to start? We suggest the Icons Collection, a set of five mini vials of the brand’s popular eau de parfum: Bergamot, Rain Cloud, Leather, Ink and Smoke. Perfumer H says the Icons Collection is “an invitation into the many worlds of Perfumer H, from blue ink on white paper to tropical summer storm clouds”.
Troye for Rabanne
As part of its rebrand last year when the iconic fashion label Paco Rabanne moved from using its founder’s full name to simply, ‘Rabanne,’ it launched a high-end collection of makeup.
The makeup is made up of “high–performance formulas that fuse unexpected shades with fashion fabric–inspired metallic finishes.”
It’s a cool collection full of nods to the metallic shine and spacey touches that made the brand famous, like its iconic metal mesh bags and dresses.
Now, Rabanne Makeup has announced its first celebrity ambassador, Australian singer Troye Sivan. Sivan, famous for hits like ‘Rush’ and ‘Got me Started’, will appear in campaigns for the brand, starting with the ‘Nudes’ collection that aims to showcase the fresh finish of the brand’s makeup textures.

Put the caviar in your handbag with La Prairie’s latest limited-edition release, Skin Caviar The Mist. The Swiss luxury skincare experts are famous for infusing caviar into its products for a renewing skin boost, and the latest arrival is designed for use on-the-go.
The perfect travel product to immediately refresh, energise and hydrate the skin, the lightweight mist contains the brand’s famous caviar micro-nutrients that support skins’ energy and deep hydration with every spritz.
If you’re passing through Sydney airport, check out the La Prairie ‘Summer Club,’ where you can experience the new mist, engage with some fun photo opportunities and indulge in pre-flight pampering and relaxation with La Prairie’s signature hand and arm massage. The Summer Club stand is open until August 8.
MAC brings back favourite shades
If you’ve ever experienced your favourite beauty product being discontinued, you’ll know how frustrating it can be.
If you’ve been a long-time fan of MAC Cosmetics, you will have experienced this before as the trend-led brand revolves through its collections fairly quickly, keeping only a core collection of well-known shades as pillars of the brand. It’s lipsticks in particular – think Ruby Woo or Velvet Teddy – have become icons.
Now, to celebrate the brand’s 40-year anniversary, MAC has decided to bring back a number of shades it consistently gets requested. Saying it has listened to social media feedback, the brand has released eight previously popular lipstick shades. They include Bubbles, Fleshpot, Shanghai Spice, Hot Gossip, Up The Amp, Double Shot, Chintz and Haku.
The sad news? The shades will only be available for a limited period, so if you’re a fan, its time to stock up (again).
