The winner is no surprise: Germany’s Kühlungsborn camping park is decisively ahead for the second time. There are more insider tips, though, and these are the top five campsites in Europe, according to the camping specialists.

Germany is a major destination for camping fans, and a total of 67 German campsites made it into the top 110.
And for a perfect camping vacation, you don’t necessarily have to go to the sea. The top ten also include campsites in inland areas of German states Lower Saxony and North Rhine-Westphalia.
Other popular camping countries in Europe are Austria, Switzerland, Italy, Slovenia and the Netherlands.
But there’s more to it than just location. Those surveyed also considered key questions like whether the site was particularly family- or dog-friendly, or if there were lots of diverse places to put up a tent, and how modern the sanitary facilities are.
The ranking was created out of 228,000 evaluations undertaken by the camping guests who shared their satisfaction ratings. There were 23,000 campsites from 44 European countries to choose from.
