Australia and New Zealand love Pink, and her record tour takings prove it

Pink’s Beautiful Trauma tour has hit record earnings of $110 million, making her the second-highest-grossing artist of all time Down Under.

Pop diva Pink is now the second-highest-grossing artist of all time Down Under, behind only The Rolling Stones.

The singer, 39, grossed $109.8 million ($US80.4 million) from 559,361 tickets sold during the Australia/New Zealand leg of her Beautiful Trauma World Tour, according to figures published by Billboard.

To put this into perspective, the mum-of-two has nearly quadrupled her earnings since touring Down Under in 2007, where she sold 307,825 tickets and earned $27.1 million as a result.

The recent leg of her Beautiful Trauma World Tour – a 42-date stint which began in Perth in July, and wrapped up in Sydney in September – included a few hiccups for the pop star, who was forced to postpone numerous dates after being hospitalised for illness.

The ‘Funhouse’ hit-maker is only partway through her tour and has another 60 shows ahead of her – in the US and Canada, the UK and Europe, and South America – set to see her performing into August next year.

Another artist making waves Down Under is Cher, impacting the Hot Tours recap at No. 5. In all, she played two shows in New Zealand, grossing $1.7 million and 12 shows in Australia, pulling in $12.3 million, selling a combined 115,776 tickets.
