Auckland Restaurant Month: the must-try menus and best events


Restaurant Month returns to Auckland this August - showcasing the best of the best in the heart of the city. 

Now in its 11th year, Auckland Restaurant Month (1-31 August) features a host of culinary events and menu specials – from cheap and cheerful $25 menus and cocktail happy hours, to $55+ degustations and memorable dining events.

Logan Brown Reunion

Aucklander’s are getting a special chance to enjoy the culinary delights from Wellington’s beloved institution Logan Brown. Chefs Shaun Clouston and Des Harris, Logan Brown’s only two head chefs, are heading to Auckland’s FISH Restaurant for a Logan Brown Reunion. The talented chefs will be presenting the very best of Logan Brown with a four-course dinner, including the famous Paua Ravioli.

Before dinner begins, guests will also be treated to live opera performances at the Hilton’s Bellini Bar with bubbles and canapes, and wine matches during dinner from Dog Point and Prophet’s Rock.

Culprit Trolley Dollies

Described as “Drag Race meets trolley service”, Culprit Trolley Dollies is sure to be a memorable night out. Enjoy a 6-8 course degustation at Culprit, each course presented and inspired by a local drag queen.

Vivace’s Annual Long Lunch with Paolo Pancotti

Head along to an afternoon of Tuscan dining Vivace’s Annual Long Lunch with chef Paolo Pancotti. Enjoy a complimentary drink on arrival before indulging in a delicious four-course feast.

MASU Unleashed

Bringing together magical fantasy and fine-dining flavours in a four-course dining event, MASU Unleashed is one Restaurant Month event you won’t want to miss. Taking place at the SkyCity Wētā Workshop immersive exhibition, explore the whimsical world of Wētā wizardry.

A four-course dinner by MASU’s chef Nic Watt awaits you at the final film set, an ambitious menu that pushes the boundaries of culinary creativity.

$40 Social Hour

The Social Hour is new to the Auckland Restaurant Month programme and is sure to be a favourite of the festival. For $40, enjoy two cocktails and sharing plate, perfect for an afternoon or post-work gatherings. Our top Social Hour picks are Xuxu’s negronis and dumplings, the mulled wine and molten fromage at The Conservatory and pinaepiño margaritas and loaded chimichanga at Parasol & Swing.

Eating the Italian Alps

Get transported to the snow-capped Italian Alps with two of Auckland’s most exciting culinary talents. Eating Italian Alps sees SOUL Bar & Bistro chef Gavin Doyle join forces with ice cream innovator Giapo Graziolo for a sumptuous and fire-lit four-course Northern Italian feast and wine matching.

Mr Morris

Award-winning chef Michael Meredith’s new Britomart restaurant, Mr Morris, has quickly cemented itself as a must-visit dining destination.

For Auckland Restaurant Month, Mr Morris is offering a $75 three-course lunch or dinner, a menu designed to showcase the Pacific and New Zealand experience through simple, inventive food.


One of the coolest new eateries in Commercial Bay, Gochu is treating diners to a $60 six-course Korean sharing lunch or dinner this Restaurant Month.

With a menu that includes cured kingfish with apple & anchovy consommé, charred chicken with gochujang and crispy eggplant with doenjang glaze, it’s a must-try.
