Well, wonder no more! Antarctic experts Aurora Expeditions share their top excursions that you can experience on one of their small ship expeditions to the icy white continent!
With multiple daily landings, you are free to roam the shores of Antarctica at your own pace. Expert guides point you in the direction of penguin rookeries, historic huts, scientific stations, and the best hills to climb for an obligatory Antarctic ‘bum slide’.
Antarctica is a photographers dream. Catering to both amateurs and the more serious photographer, our on board professional will pass on tips to get the most out of your equipment and the unique Antarctic conditions.
From the shore, on the bow, or in the warmth and comfort of our spacious viewing platforms; opportunities for over-the-top wildlife viewing are plentiful. Witness some of our planet’s most extraordinary wildlife, including albatross, penguins, seals, whales and more!
A PADDLERS PARADISE
The experience of kayaking in the humbling wilderness of Antarctica is guaranteed to stir your soul. Paddle between brash ice and icebergs of all shapes and sizes, and drift quietly as you watch wildlife in an unobtrusive manner.
Our trusty inflatable rubber boats, called Zodiacs, cruise a safe distance from the aqua-blue glaciers and intricate icebergs. If we’re lucky leopard seals glide effortlessly under our crafts, whales breach in front of us, and penguins porpoise alongside.
SPEND A NIGHT ON THE ICE
Some people camp for the first time in their lives in Antarctica – albeit in a more comfortable and civilised fashion than our fellow early Antarctic explorers. We provide the equipment; you bring the spirit of adventure.
TAKE THE POLAR PLUNGE
You can don a dry suit and snorkel or dive around icebergs and explore what lies beneath, or take the ‘Polar Plunge’, where willing passengers can take the ultimate dip into the icy Antarctic waters.
