On Saturday Angelina Jolie walked the bombed-out streets of war-torn Mosul. She deemed the scene of destruction as the worst shes ever seen during her 17-year humanitarian work with United Nations.
On Sunday she visited a refugee camp holding 33,000 refugees as a result of the conflict in Syria.
According to Jolie, the world is failing to properly invest in the Syrian refugee crisis and families, women, and children are suffering terribly as a result, “There are terrible human consequences,” Jolie said, “When there is even not the bare minimum of aid, refugee families cannot receive adequate medical treatment. Women and girls are left vulnerable to sexual violence, many children cannot go to school, and we squander the opportunity to invest in refugees.”
A huge human rights advocate, earlier this year Angelia said, “We should never forget that the war began with demands by Syrians for greater human rights. Peace in their country has to be built on that.”
It appears the star is prepared to go to great lengths to speak for those who can’t speak for themselves, showing once again her big heart for people.
Meanwhile in London, while Angelina was away, Brad Pitt spent Father’s Day with his kids.
Last week the court decreed that Angelina must start encouraging her children to have relationships with their father, Brad Pitt, if she wants to remain their primary caregiver.
The estranged celebrity couple has six children between them: Maddox, 16, Pax, 14, Zahara, 13, Shiloh, 12, and 9-year old twins Vivienne and Knox.
