Angelina Jolie says she’s barely stopped crying, almost a week after dropping off son Maddox for his first year of university.
But despite the tears, the Hollywood star says it’s brought her family closer together.
The Oscar-winning actress made global headlines last week for choking up like any mum would as Maddox embarked on his new chapter in South Korea.
Asked about the tearful goodbye, Jolie told ET that she hasn’t stopped “ugly crying” ever since.

Maddox will be studying biochemistry at Yonsei University in Seoul, one of South Korea’s most highly-regarded research institutions.
He leaves behind five siblings back in the US, and despite Jolie’s divorce from Brad Pitt, it’s clear that they’re a tight family unit.
“What was very beautiful is the way everybody said goodbye. When it was time to take him to the airport — some jumped into the car to take him,” Jolie added while speaking to ET.
“When you know that your kids love each other and you see the way they all — without any kind of prompting or pushing — give each other notes, hug each other, take each other, support each other, then you feel like they’re going to be okay and they’re always going to have each other.”
“It’s nice to know how much he knows he’s loved,” Jolie said to ET.
“And but yeah, I miss him, I miss him. Or I’ll just get out there. It’s not like I haven’t set my plane tickets.”

The 44-year-old chatted briefly with a crowd of star-struck parents and students on campus as she prepared to say goodbye.
A brief video of the encounter has been widely shared online, and it’s clear Jolie struggled to contain her emotion.
“I also, just at some point, had the big [sun]glasses and the amount of times I turned and waved. I do know it was the one moment in my life I think I turned around six times before the airport just…
“And he sweetly stayed and kept waving, knowing that I was going to keep turning around. You could feel he knew he couldn’t leave,” Jolie told ET.
There was no sign of father Pitt as Maddox was dropped off – the pair have endured a strained relationship over the years.
In 2018, Jolie had to fight to keep primary custody of the six children she has to ex-husband Pitt, including Maddox who is their eldest.
