An orphaned Kangaroo and his teddy bear
Timothy Beshara, who resides in Tasmania, shared this photo on his Twitter earlier in the week to a resounding applause from the internet.
The caption “Showing the value of a good hug, especially for an orphaned Wallaby” has broken peoples hearts around the world with its beautiful message.
The orphaned eastern grey Kangaroo called Doodlebug, was rescued just over a year go when he was found abandoned and in need of care.
Timothy’s Mother stepped in, a WIRES carer, raising the Kangaroo and preparing him for his final release back into the wild. Doodlebug is currently undergoing a “soft release” which means that he is gradually being let go – or readied for his full return to the wild.
Beshara told HuffPost that his teddy bear acts as a companion, just like any any other toddler would carry around a ‘comfort’ toy.
“He lies next to it, practices his kicking against it and cuddles it,” Beshara said.
