Allbirds Britomart Store Opens its Doors

Allbirds Britomart store is opening this week – here’s what you need to know.

It’s been five years since Allbirds founder Tim Brown had a game-changing idea: why not make a pair of shoes out of miraculous merino wool? Fast forward to 2019 and not only do Allbirds now sell shoes made out of a host of environmentally minded materials including merino, eucalyptus tree fibre and sugar cane, but the brand has also become one of the most lauded sustainably minded footwear companies in the world.

While Allbirds has been busy taking on the world, it’s time for local fans to celebrate as this week the brand is coming home as the very first New Zealand Allbirds store opens its doors. Allbirds Britomart will open on 15 August and we can’t wait to head down to Gore Street and take a look around.

With almost 150 square metres of space, you’ll be able to explore the entire Allbirds collection including the now world-famous Merino Wool Runners and Auckland inspired laces: Waiheke Island Teal, Light Path Magenta, and West Coast Black Sand.

The store will open at 10am Thursday 15 August and to celebrate Allbirds is hosting a coffee cart it Takutai Square from Thursday through to Sunday. Bring along your own keep-cup and the coffee is on Allbirds.

Allbirds Auckland opens at 5 Gore Street on 15 August. If you’re outside of Auckland you can visit their online store here

Discover the Saben Spring Summer 2019 Collection

If you’ve been hanging out for spring to arrive so you can invest in some new-season arm candy, you don’t have to wait any longer. The Saben Spring Summer 2019 collection has launched in-store and online, and there are a plethora of beautiful pieces we know are going to perfectly complement spring wardrobes.

The new Saben Spring Summer 2019 collection is titled Reflection and it features eye-catching bold silhouettes and a vibrant colour palette – think piquant citrus hues – that has reminded us that spring really is too far away.

Anyone with an Instagram account knows that it can be hard to embrace self-love and self-acceptance. Which is why the inspiration for Saben’s collection revolves around the body positivity movement, inviting us to embrace our reflection rather the shy away from it.

“When choosing the bright colours and unique details of this collection, I felt inspired to create accessories that would make women proud to stand out while appealing to their individuality,” ” explains Saben founder Roanne Jacobsen. “Fashion should be without barriers, as should self-love, so this movement is something we are proud to advocate through this collection.”

The colours employed throughout the collection are intended to be unique and standout. And the same goes for 90s glam rock aesthetic that features on the Jaeger, Curtis, Jaxson and Mackenzie styles. Metallic hardware details, spliced chains, studs, detailed zip pullers and contrasting suede tassels all create a head-turning point of difference.
