You’re invited on a food odyssey through one of Australia’s hottest cool-climate food and wine destinations, Orange.

Affectionately known as the heart of New South Wales, the city of Orange is the perfect base from which to enjoy the region’s fine food and wine in a quiet country setting.

Although only a short three-and-a-half hour drive west of Sydney over the majestic Blue Mountains, this wine-producing part of NSW is best discovered by luxury train rideThe Provenance Express, a carefully curated and hosted, 3-day food and wine travel experience from Sydney to Orange will take you directly to the source during Australia’s longest-running regional food festival – Orange F.O.O.D Week.

With a focus on organic and biodynamic food and wine experiences as well as sustainable and holistic farming practices, the Provenance Express itinerary has been hand-selected and jam-packed with foodie adventures aimed at introducing guests to the abundant Orange region during harvest time.

The journey commences on Friday, April 5 from Sydney Central Station, with a five-hour slow travel experience in a dedicated rail carriage that includes a Prosecco and Pastries breakfast. You’ll get to spend two nights’ in a King Deluxe Room and be expertly guided on a gastronomic journey that will delight the senses.

Highlights include attending the F.O.O.D Week festival night market in Robertson Park on Friday, with over 50 local food and wine stalls – this is the perfect way to get know the region.  Saturday you’ll go on a serious foodie exploration; a day on an organic farm in Canowindra specialising in figs, olives, olive oil and organic wine, with a long table lunch in the strawbale winery as well as a tour of the sustainable community on the property; a festival dinner in a cellar door on a vineyard.

Ease into your Sunday with a sparkling breakfast followed by farm gate and vineyard visits, finished with lunch in a historic woolshed before departing for Sydney in the afternoon.
