The ‘Children of the Rainbow’ school is located in the Sacred Valley, with AKP supporting 220 of the most at-risk and impoverished children at the school by providing an education, meals, as well as medical and dental care.
As Peru is one of the lowest ranked countries in the world for reading comprehension, AKP deepened its engagement with the school by building a library. Named the ‘Castle of Books’, the library has more than 2000 books and some cosy reading nooks for kids to read in.
With A&K guest support, a new school library “El Castillo de los Libros” (the Castle of Books) was built for Children of the Rainbow students & their families. The library is now stocked with 2,000+ books for various reading levels. pic.twitter.com/BAlpnu4ABn

Apart from the library itself, AKP also helped the school establish a reading comprehension plan for the students, their families and the community.
Guests also assist the AKP program. When on A&K tours in the Sacred Valley they can visit the school, interact with students and family members and visit the library, as well as learning a little more about the AKP program.
A&K Philanthropy is 100% funded by Abercrombie & Kent globally with a donation made to AKP on behalf of every guest travelling.
