Benny Andersson, one of the members of iconic 70’s pop band ABBA, said they hope to release new music in September this year.
Speaking to reporters, Andersson could not confirm the exact date of the new music. “They’re coming, I’m guessing after the summer,” he told reporters. “One shouldn’t promise anything, but if I were to decide myself, it would be September.”
ABBA fans have long been awaiting a musical revival from the band. In 2018, they announced two new songs, “I Still Have Faith in You” and “Don’t Shut Me Down,” were expected to release in March 2019. By January 2019, they pushed back the release and hinted that a third song.
Björn Ulvaeus has described the two new songs as “very danceable” and “Nordic sad, but happy at the same time.”
