A 1920s-style speakeasy bar is popping up in Wellington this week
You're invited to Wellington's coolest new haunt.

What: Channelling the glitz and glam of Gatsby, the exclusive pop-up bar is delivering delicious cocktails, live jazz and blues music and nibbles in a speakeasy-style setting at St Johns Bar & Eatery. The space will be transformed into the golden age of the roaring twenties, with blacked-out windows, candlelit ambience and even a secret code for entry.

“We’re excited to bring back the glam and opulence of the twenties right here in city centre. There’ll be no bathtub gin or moonshine, though we’re confident a couple of our signature cocktail French 75 will get punters into the swing of things,” says Venue Manager Brian Hanrahan.

Where: St Johns Bar & Eatery, 5 Cable Street, Te Aro, Wellington.

When: Friday 14th May, 8pm

Tickets are $49 and spots limited so head to stjohnsbar.co.nz/speakeasy to book.
